This teaching qualification allows students from a non-teaching background to develop the necessary skills to teach IT, or allows those with existing teaching skills to tailor those to the area of IT. The course has two key components: Education Principles and Practices and Education Practice ICT Skills. Successful candidates receive certificates in the two areas above and a diploma in Education Practice ICT Skills.
Aims of Course
It will allow learners to develop:
Competence in teaching standard IT applications
An understanding of ICT
Awareness of how we learn
Good practices in relation to teaching

Level 3 Certificate in Education Principles and Practice
The teaching and learning context
Learning theories and principles
Teaching strategies and methods of teaching and assessment
Managing teaching and learning
Evaluating and developing own practice
Level 3 Certificate in Education Practice: ICT Skills
Managing the ICT learning environment
Develop teaching and learning materials for selected applications
Applied principles of ICT Education
Undertake teaching practice which is observed and assessed
Complete a teaching project comprising a training needs analysis, scheme of work, two teaching session plans with support materials.
Duration
This programme can be completed in one month.
