The ECDL is an international standard of practical competence for computer users in either a professional or personal capacity. The ECDL gives holders recognition within Ireland and internationally (the ECDL is referred to as the ICDL or International Computer Driving Licence outside Europe). The ECDL is assessed through tests on each of the seven components.
Aims of Course
It will allow learners to:
Demonstrate competence in key software applications
Gain an understanding of the role of IT in the workplace today
Broaden their skill set and strengthen existing IT skills

Module 1 - Basic Concepts of Information Technology
Module 2 - Using a Computer and Managing Files
Module 3 - Word Processing
Module 4 - Spreadsheets
Module 5 - Databases
Module 6 - Presentation
Module 7 - Information and Communication
Duration
This is a two week programme composed of instructions and practical exercises. Students will take an exam in each module of the syllabus.
